January Inputs to Parish Council Meetings.
- COVID-19: I have kept your Parish Council informed of the COVID-19 data on a weekly basis, along with the latest information on the vaccination roll out. Within the Northill ward there has been an increase in confirmed cases, so I emphasis the need to follow Government guidelines. HANDS FACE SPACE.
- The Councils web site for “Business Support Grant Payments has been updated to reflect recent changes
- Budget 2021/22: The draft budget proposal is now out for public consultation with a closing date of the 27th The headline news being:
a) Spend £402M
b) Efficiency Savings of £10.7M
c) Great demand on Adult Social Care & Children’s Service
d) To bridge the gap between need and income the intention is to apply a 3% to the Adult Social Care precept, and 1.95% increase to the Council Tax. Basically for a Band D property the increase will be £1.48 ( £0.58 Social Care & £0.90 for other services)
- Moggerhanger Park House: Having recently become a Trustee I would like to raise the profile of the House within village and seek ways in which there can be more Community involvement. I would welcome the views/proposals of residents.
The Trustees of Moggerhanger House Preservation Trust would like to be able to reopen the Park for the local community as soon as possible for pedestrians access only. However there are obstacles that need to be resolved to protect the site before we can do so, these are being constantly reviewed and we look forward to welcoming people back to the Park as soon as is practical.
- Ward Boundaries: I am pleased to say that the Boundary Commission has agreed that the under the proposed Ward boundary changes consultation the Northill ward is to remain as is.
- Fix My Street: A replacement for the Report It – Fix my Street is scheduled to be launched on the 25th
- Ward Member Grant Scheme: The scheme will close on the 31 March and unspent monies lost. Currently I have some £1959 remaining plus a further £140 for COVID related activities. Please submit your bids as early possible.
